Cannot Install AutoCAD 2023 on Windows Server 2012

I have a Windows Server 2012 workstation which is fairly powerful, Intel Xeon processor 2.3 GHz,  16 GB physical memory, 20 GB free space. However, the install starts and then stops/fails with below message.

AutoCAD 2023
Cannot install

This computer does not meet the operating system requirements for Autodesk AutoCAD 2023 - English

FYI- I updated the .NET version to 4.8 as per the system requirements below

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System...

I contacted the Tier 1 support and they advised to post to this Forum. Can you assist me in knowing which System requirement is NOT met by my computer. (Note: This computer is my personal workstation on EC2 AWS. I have several apps that run fine on this vm. AutoCAD is the first application is failing to install)

Your post says it doesn't meet the operating system requirements.  You can find them in the system requirements that you link to

which is Windows 10 and 11 64 bit

Windows Server 2012 is an unsupported OS. Nothing much you can do about it now except to change that reality.

What's your end goal?

For review:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-r...

Choices:

System requirements for AutoCAD 2023 including Specialized Toolsets (Windows)
Operating System 64-bit Microsoft® Windows® 11 and Windows 10 version 1809 or above. See Autodesk's Product Support Lifecycle for support information.

Nice, since he's probably not coming back.

The answer is no,

Autodesk puts out the system requirements ...  The good is this ticket should show up for those googling the same question and they'll see it's not possible.

Do we know why Autodesk has decided not to support Windows Server for the Autodesk suite?

They never supported server OS

These are not server applications

Not sure if never is the appropriate answer. 2018 still runs on Server OS and performs without any problems. I would be furious if I was running Amazon Workspace VDI which underlying OS is Server. Here is a blog about prototyping on AWS. Is this not valid now? @michael_nikelsky mentioned in this response why Autodesk decided to not support Server OS.

@qday9NH6R 'still runs" "can run" "I have it running on..." and my favorite "..some other software from the same software vendor does indeed run on..." mean little for anyone that cannot do that, and since Autodesk is the ideal source to make it happen, anecdotal evidence is just that sadly.

It's all in the eye-of-the-beholder though, isn't it.
