I Just spent over a half hour getting nowhere with Autodesk Chat and was abruptly hung up on!

I have Autodesk LT 2011 installed in a computer that has crashed.  I thought it would be a fairly easy task to call up and get info on how to transfer it to my new computer. wrong.

The chat rep "Dayana M" and later manager "Gabriel" insisted that my company name did not match my serial # on the box and so could not help me.  Impossible.

I looked into the authorized re-seller Associated Software Sales and found they were no longer in business.  There are comments all over autodesk forum asking about if this company was legit or not?

I asked this over and over during the chat and my question was disregarded....very suspicious.

I felt like I was being treated like a thief or criminal during this chat.  I have no way of getting my work done right now.  Will need to escalate this.

If anyone from Autodesk cares to help...the case # was 13049239 (License Management chat)

You need the LT2011 installation disks from back in the day: do you still have these?

Yes, I have the disk. It would not install. Got a message about it being corrupt. Autodesk chat would not help me.

LT2011 is retired at Autodesk: it's not easy for them to get downloads to you.
While you wait, call them back and instead of getting stuck on who owns what license, simply ask them if they can provide you with a download link for the program.

You will need to reinstall the program: there is no "transfer" option.

You can use the serial number on your box to authorize it after installing the program on your new PC: if it's bogus or there is an issue with the license it will come up there, if not, you're good to go. Either way you have nothing to lose today.

Note that LT2011 is NOT supported in Windows10 http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X

I was not stuck on who owns the license...autodesk chat was. They also asked for a proof of purchase!
I think the authorized reseller I got it from is bogus and autodesk knows it. I got no reply to my questioning about them and was rudely hung up on.

In the end..  If you have something illegal..  Not saying its your fault or you caused it...  Autodesk is just not going to support it.  We are only users here and unable to troubleshoot issues with invalid serial #s and etc.
