Back to in app Pop-ups at Startup and Exit? I mean, Really

Does anyone else have concerns over the sudden reverting to In-App popups that are appearing in Revit 2026?

After years of dealing with the mess of the differing iterations of what is now Autodesk Access, all the years of "can't uninstall it because it's a required function", through here's some controls finally, and it can now be uninstalled to give us a little more control, all to now be back to Revit telling you that you have updates available and/or forcing users to add more information to their user accounts and/or profiles, and even "satisfaction surveys" launching on exiting the program...

What gives?

And why with Revit? I haven't seen any of these things in the AutoCAD based programs, ?although that could just be because I'm not in them as often? (Autodesk, do not take that as a sign that you have another opportunity to annoy your user base)...

Anyway, Just another happy customer trying to stay productive in a stress-free world...

I opened your post in the Installation & Licensing Forum and the next minute, it's been moved to Ideas? Ehhh... Huh??

Anyway, haven't seen any pop-ups, but haven't been using Revit 2026 much. Can you post a screenshot?

That aside, the drawback of subscription is becoming more and more apparent. It simply means you're no longer in control of the products you use, whether it's software or a car....

@Simon_Weel,

Yeah, I'm a little confused over the moderator's decision to move this myself... It isn't an idea it's an observation and looking to get the thoughts of others (and possibly get an explanation from those that are putting us through all of this)...

Sorry, no screenshots, this is simply frustrations over what I've seen since installing Revit 2026 last spring. (especially given the new Autodesk Access update and the newer Account options that are supposed to help us get more control over updates)

Anyway, as to some of the specifics...

On installation I had to give information about how and why I use it, skipped it, it came back a few months later asking again, etc...

On another instance it was about a new content pack that was available (which is really stupid since content isn't even part of the typical installation anymore anyway since the creation of the "Load Autodesk Family" tool came along and which should have been in Autodesk Access anyway if it's something that needs updating...)

And the world keeps turning, and will keep doing so long after we're all gone 🙂

Being critical about Access, I found myself obliged to give the latest version a try; it's a move in the right direction. Configured a policy, installed the latest Access but it won't do the trick - no updates available.

Here's another survey pop-up, as I'm exiting Revit:

(and apparently the Forum "Paste" function is still wonky so I'm attaching what I wanted to paste in line...)

Never seen that. There is a setting in your Autodesk Account that could turn it off, I guess?

I'm usually pretty good about spotting those new additions to privacy policies (and other things geared towards promotions, getting in my business, constantly bugging me, and the like) but I seem to have missed that one.

We'll see if it helps.
