Autodesk Revit not installing

Hi,

I have been trying to install Revit 2017 on my laptop since Saturday morning and it keeps stalling at the same place.  It sat on Saturday afternoon for 2 hours before i canceled the download.  I tried to resume the download several times with no luck before uninstalling all of the files Sunday morning. When they were all gone I started the process again and it stalled at the same spot of the download.  I let it run this time and it has not moved in over 8 hrs.  I don't want to cancel it again but I'm not sure what my options are.

Can anyone help out?

Hello tjNZ9ZL and welcome to the Autodesk community!

Welcome to the community..

First of all stop using the method you're using..  This is unreliable..

Download and install per:

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent and follow the download links to your product.
2. Download all of the parts (some applications only have a single part to download) for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
3. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe (or the single file download).
4. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
5. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
6. Follow the installation steps for your product

If you want the full recommended installation steps, click on the installation link in my signature.

However if the installation does fail using this method, please post your installation log file here so we can review it.  Posting info: Sometimes installation log files contain personal information such as your serial #.  Prior to posting your log file please make sure to remove such info.

Good luck on your installation and report back on your progress.

The installation is not necessarily failing but more so your connection between your machine and Autodesk servers is timing out. This is a common issue with the Install Now option which you're using. Instead, use the virtual agent as @Mark.Lancaster suggest... For a video of this process, look below...

Hi,

I was able to get REVIT installed and working using the your suggestions above but I cannot get the material library to download.  I've tried multiple times but it just says "connecting" and it stays that way indefinitely.  I have 100 Mbps internet connection so I don't think that's the problem.

Is there any other way to access this Library?

I'm confused by your posting.  The image you show still indicates you are using the install now option?

I Uninstalled everything then reinstalled the program using the virtual agent. When I open the program it says that it's missing the material library. The only option I can find to re-download the material library is through the Revit installer.
