Autodesk remembers me as a student and will not let me change my role to an educator.

Hello, I have become a teacher on the same university where I studied, so using the same email & account as I had for my student license. I now need to change my role from a student to an educator. Autodesk however always defaults to me being a student even if I have attempted to save the change multiple times. I have tried the AI-suggested solution but it didn't work. Is there anything else for me to do or does the change have to be made from Autodesk's end?

Hi @filip_zemanT3CQ3, it looks like you need to ask the education support to reset your account. Would you please try to create a case via the below page?

https://www.autodesk.com/support

 

Since you have a student license on your account, I believe live chat will be the only option you'll see. Please type "I'd like to reset my student license" or a similar phrase there. You'll get a suggested solution but you'll see the "Connect with an agent" button like below. Hope this information helps.

I am more than willing to do that, may I just ask at what time are the agents available? I have tried connecting multiple times but there never was anyone available. I am connecting from central Europe, but I am willing to adhere to American work hours in order to connect with anyone. I just don't know when is there any point in trying. That's why I ended up going to the forum for advice.

Hi @filip_zemanT3CQ3, unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question, as well as cannot check myself for you as I don't have an education license. I'm afraid that community managers like me cannot reset your education account either.

 

However, I have a commercial standard license and an agent is currently online. I'm based in APAC. My license is for commercial users but I don't think the education support team only works during the Americas times. Would you please check at different times to see if an agent is available to help you? Please also note that although some support staff are working, it'll show "unavailable" if they're supporting other users.
