The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

the issue is regarding Autodesk Genuine Service.msi & it can’t locate the file path & then when trying to open AutoCAD 2023 it crashes due to not finding a license

Hi @sageoL8T9E

Thanks a lot for posting your question to the forums!   It could be one of the below:

  • Corrupted install.
  • The original installation files needed by the update are no longer in the original locations.

Solution:

Failed update

  1. Click Browse... and direct the path to the install location directory of the produce, for example: C:\Autodesk\Revit_2022_G1_Win_64bit_dlm\x64\RVT. If the install package is missing, Download your Autodesk product installer using the Autodesk Virtual Agent (AVA), the Download Now method, or the Browser Download method.
  2. Extract the package and reattempt the update.

Failed install

  1. Follow Uninstall Using Microsoft Fixit workflow to see if the tool detects the software being installed has already been installed on the system.
  2. Download the Autodesk product installer using the Autodesk Virtual Agent (AVA), the Download Now method, or the Browser Download method.
  3. Proceed with the product installation per General installation workflow for Autodesk Products.
  4. Install the update again.

Check Visual C++ Make sure they are current

  1. Check Visual C++ within installation log for failed process.
  2. Check Visual C++ versions are current.
  3. If error message or not current: How to remove and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables packages.

Edit the SourceList value in Windows Registry

Note: It may be necessary to consult with a system administrator to perform the below steps.

Warning:
Problems caused by improperly editing the Windows registry could render the computer operating system unusable. Microsoft provides critical information about the registry in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Use the Microsoft Registry Editor being aware of potential risk, and only after backing up the registry as outlined for the operating system in the Microsoft article How to back up and restore the registry in Windows and in the related solution How to back up the system registry. Additional information about the registry is also contained in the Help topics in the Microsoft Registry Editor.

Rectify the installation source path. The following steps take Revit as example.
  • Old path: C:\DP\rvt2021.1\image\RVT_2021_en-US\x64\RVT
  • New path: C:\RVT\
  1. Find the registry key to edit in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\ and modify it to reflect the new path. Below example 0A4B643700120150000007C5D0680240 refers to Revit 2021. Search the registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\ to find the correct key for the affected product:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\0A4B643700120150000007C5D0680240\SourceList
    • Before
      • LastUsedSource - n;1;C:\DP\rvt2021.1\image\RVT_2021_en-US\x64\RVT
    • After
      • LastUsedSource - n;2;C:\RVT\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\0A4B643700120150000007C5D0680240\SourceList\Net
    • Before
      • 1 - C:\DP\rvt2021.1\image\RVT_2021_en-US\x64\RVT
    • After
      • 1 - C:\DP\rvt2021.1\image\RVT_2021_en-US\x64\RVT
      • 2 - C:\RVT
  1. Run the installer again.

We look forward to hearing back from you with more information so we can help you as a community!

Can't fully see it ..

Does it say AGiS?

Also, do you still have the installer in the C:\Autodesk folder .. .and extracted? If not do so

It says

the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

click OK to try again,  or enter an alternate file path to a folder containing the installation package ‘Autodesk Genuine Service.msi’ in the box below

I have downloaded ACAD from Autodesk online & extracted it to C drive/Autodesk

I'd do a search in the C:\Autodesk for that file..

and manually put the path in

In the location where you extracted the install files, do a search for all .msi files and see if the missing file is listed. If not, the downloaded files are either incomplete of corrupt. In that case, download the install files again. If the files IS listed, then open the location of the file, copy the path and use that path when the 'browse for file' windows pops up.

How is this downloaded for installation?

Think you clean out everything for this installer / clean out your %temp% folder

Get a new installer ( browser method) then try
