AutoCAD Standalone Licence: computers will not be connected to network/internet

Hi,

My company needs to have some "classified" computer to work on specific projects.

Those computers will not be connected to network.

From what I understood, AutoCAD needs to be periodicaly connected to network to confirm licence....

I'm sure we are not a specific case, how to deal with this situation ?

Thanks by advance,

Autodesk licenses are subscription based so yea you need internet for setup & activation &  a periodic internet connection for verification

they may offer multiuser licenses (network licenses) in this scenario  but you need to contact your reseller to discuss options if any available

This AKN article should help answer your question(s):

For Desktop Products

  • For most of our desktop products on subscription, there is no need to be online to use the software.
  • The software runs on the computer, not on the web.
  • However, it is necessary to connect to the Internet every 30 days, so we can keep the software up-to-date and verify that the subscription is still current.
  • Additionally, an Internet connection is needed initially to install and activate the software.

Hi,

Thanks @mdavis22569 but I've already seen this...

I can not understand this is a special request and there is no workaround proposed by Autodesk.

this is because Autodesk is changing how they do their business making these types of changes is neccessary

like what i said above they may still offer a network license (multi-user license) but this will require special approval from Autodesk but you need to contact your reseller to see if this is an option

Greetings @jlc.pub

What you want is not offered in any automatic easy way: you will need to work with a local reseller in your region, and they can help you create a case to submit specifically for your company or special review and special approval. If and when that approval is granted to your company, then you can go from there.

Here is now to find a reseller that is willing to do all of that (they may want to be compensated for their time, and you'll want your corporate legal counsel to get involved too to draft the request to Autodesk) https://www.autodesk.com/partners/locate-a-reseller

There was something for a bit .. about those in GRAY room / Dark rooms like this.

Hopefully you can find a workaround, but as of now there is a public option like this available.

You've reached out to Autodesk yes?
