AutoCAD on Citrix – Folder Redirection and Virtual Desktops

We have installed AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 on Citrix Virtual Desktops (version 1903). As part of this, we are using folder redirection to store the contents of the Windows “AppData\Roaming” folders for the individual user profiles. This contains standard AutoCAD files along with many of our own custom files. We have confirmed that the redirection is taking place as evidenced inside the OPTIONS “Files” tab, where paths that are normally listed as:

 “C:\Users\LOGIN\AppData\Roaming\...”

Are now resolved to: \\OURSERVER\Citrix_Folder-Redirections\LOGIN\AppData\Roaming\...

What I wanted to ask about are the files stored in the “C:\Users\LOGIN\AppData\Local\...” folder. Specifically the AutoCAD-specific files stored here, and more specifically, the Template (dwt) files. In our installations of Civil 3D, template files are installed under a path like: “C:\Users\LOGIN\AppData\Local\Autodesk\C3D 20xx\enu\Template”. We typically store our custom template files here too. We are not currently using folder redirection on the “AppData\Local” folders.

My question is, do we need to add a “folder and file inclusion list” for the DWT files located here (as per https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2012/02/11/citrix-profile-management-and-vdi-doing-it-right/)? Something like:

"AppData\Local\Autodesk\C3D 2018\enu\Template\AutoCAD Template\*.dwt"

Regards,

Hello @MarkSanchezSPEC

If the community does not respond, you can reach out to a service provider on our Services Marketplace to connect with an industry expert able to set up your Citrix environment to run Autodesk software.

Autodesk technical support is provided to make sure your Autodesk software is working properly. We do not, however, provide technical support for your chosen virtual environment.

Please "Accept Solution" if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.
