Hello,

I'm trying to create  deployment of Autocad Mechanical 2017 French and another deployment for the Mechanical English Language Pack. I've already done various other product like electrical, autocad, revit and many other suites.

Now, when I deploy the Autocad Mechanical French, everything work fine. But when I install the English Language Pack, it crash at startup with unhandled exception. Only the english crash. My base install is french.

I'm on Windows 10 Enterprise x64 CB 1607.

Thank you

Try using the Reset Setting to default tool found in Start > All Programs > Autodesk > AutoCAD Mechanical 2017, Then launch the shortcut for french language pack.

Hello @Anonymous,

Try deploying the full AutoCAD Mechanical 2017 Eng. These links will expire in 30days.

I completely misunderstood the issue. I thought you were having the issue after it was installed and initial launch of the French version would crash...

Being that this issue is related to your deployment, please post the installation log files found in the deployment location > Logs and also in your %temp% directory.

Ok, I'll get back to you with that. I'm currently trying something.

I installed both Mechanical FR and Mechanical English LP without the deployment I created and it worked. Now I'm trying these things to see:

- Install Mechanical from scratch but install the packaged English LP. If it work

- Install Mechanical from package, but language pack from scratch.

I'm also planning on removing all update from the mechanical package to see if it's something in the package that corrupt the language pack. I'll keep you posted

Ok, I found the problem. It is an update: autocad 2017.1.1. I'm using the "apply update" UI to add the update and when this one is installed, the english LP for Mechanical doesn't work.

What's weird is I'm also having the same issue with Autocad FR part of Autocad Design Suite Standard. The English LP does work with Autocad Standalone (and update 2017.1.1 installed), also work on other suite like Building Design Suite Premium, but in Autocad Design Suite Standard, it doesn't work.

So, I'm unsure what to do. Sometime Autocad 2017.1.1 update cause no problem, in other suite it does. Any clue how to fix that?

Thank you

AutoCAD 2017 Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0008 Exception at 9ff4bcah

[SYMPTOMS]

When installing a language pack on top of an AutoCAD verticalization (Mechanical, Architectural...) already with an update, and you try to start the product of "language packed" version, AutoCAD first gives an error like this one:

AutoCAD_ERR01.PNG

and then crashes with an error similar to this one:

AutoCAD_ERR02.PNG

while the core language still works fine (for "core language" I mean the language of the initial installation).

Typically, when installing via deployment the language pack gets installed AFTER the Update, so the problem appears once the process is completed.

[FIX]

It appears to be a known issue, but I haven't found any reference to the specific error, so I'm writing it here and maybe other users will save time.

You don't need to reinstall AutoCAD (that's the long solution for people with a lot of time and not many installations to manage).

The issue gets solved if the update is reinstalled/repaired after installing the Language Pack.

I am not talking about the "AutoCAD 2017 Service Pack 1". The right update to reinstall/repair is the

Autodesk AutoCAD 2017.1.1 Update

that can be downloaded via subscription account (about 450 MBytes file).

Alternatively, "Control Panel / Programs and Features / View Installed updates" selecting "AutoCAD 2017.1.1 Update > Change" and clicking on "Repair" has the same effect:Err03.PNG

After either or action also the AutoCAD and its verticalizations will work properly even in the language pack version.

Of course, if you install multiple language packs, then repair the update after the last one.

Hope it helps, but kudos are always welcome Smiley Wink
