ACTIVATION CODE FOR MAX 2014

Since the 4th of april I can't launch 3dsMax2014. I am asked to provide a serial and the one I have (the one YOU gave me) is not working ! We developped several scripts and plugin around it, we need it, we don't feel like turning to 2020. You must find me a solution ASAP we are now loosing time and money !!!

Thank you for your question.

Please never post a screenshot with your serial number nor post any other sensitive data on the Forum. It is an open place where everyone has access. I removed the data from your screenshot.

About your issue: do you have a subscription with this serial number? If yes, than you can use only the newest version (2020) as well as the 3 previous ones (2019, 2018, 2017). To use another version you would need to request a previous version. This is possible only in specific terms.

If you have a 2014 perpetual version, than you would need to check how many times the serial number has been activated. Only 2 activations on two different computers are allowed.

In any case I would suggest you to contact the registration team over this link and to ask them to provide you all information about your options: Installing or activating my product

Kindly choose 3ds Max + the newest version and "activation", in the correct field write your request. After clicking on "next" you will be able to sing-in.

Hi Michele, Sorry about that, I am loosing my temper with this problem. I have a subscription for 2 years now, si I am supposed to run my 2014 without problem (as I did for the past years). We can't change all our pipeline from 2014 to 2020 that fast and without any warning from Autodesk. I already sent the same message to the registration team (in french and in english... Allow me to point out again: under subscription you can use the 2020 + the 3 previous one : 2019, 2018 & 2017. 2014 is not part of the subscription package anymore. Do you have a perpetual one?

Otherwise, you need to ask the team if there is a possibility to use the 2014 version. I cannot promise that this will be possible. But I would be curious to hear the answer.

Thank you Michèle, Here are the case numbers : 15249744 and 15236123 I don't have a perpetual 2014, it was part of my subscription in march 2017 when the last 3dsmax was 2017. The 2017 was not stable enough so 2014 was perfect. Best regards, Sam

If this is an actual active subscription then you are no longer entitled to use the 2014 version. 2014 retired a couple of years ago and you would be in a non-compliant state by using that version. Are you still paying this subscription? Meaning with 2020 just released, you can only go back as far as 2016.

Hi Mark, Thank you to take the time to answer so kindly to my anguish. I was using this version and was happy with it, my company pay a subscription to use this soft and we are not supposed to change each year. Can you show/send me anything related to the fact that I MUST upgrade each year or each 4 years ? That would mean for us to change all our internal documentation each year and to upgrade our plug-in and scripts and change all our pipeline process... sorry that sounds insane for the least. I might sound a bit anxious but it means a lot of work to trash in that case. By the way what do you mean by "you would be in a non-compliant state" ? We are paying for that ! Sorry this morning many of the links to Autodesk Articles are dead links and unable to provide direct information at this time. Subscription is always based on the current release and 3 previous releases. Even if 2020 wasn't released, you could only go back as far as the 2015 version. If you go into your Autodesk Account do you see the 2014 version listed there as a viable version. If its not there then its not active any more and thus you can't use it unless you have an exception from Autodesk. Without that exception you can't use the 2014 version and it means it would be a compliant issue at that point if you did. Yes that version may have been a version you could use in the past but it doesn't mean you can use it for ever.

Yes, in fact it is said in the terms and conditions of the agreement of the subscription. You are entitled to use the current version as well as the 3 previous ones. You will find all information here:

You can also check in your Autodesk Account which versions you are allowed to use.

**With the roll out of the newest 2020 Version, the latest Version that can be requested is 2015 (it is not automatically granted). But I would rely on what the registration team says.

I have checked internally and contacted the agent in charge of your case. They should contact you soon to discuss your options. Kindly let me know if you don't have a reply by tomorrow evening.

This is all I can do for now.

Maybe the registration team can give you at least a 2015 Version, would that be practicable for? At least the "jump" would not be too hard. But in the end you will need to consider to move to a newer version if you stay on subscription.

The best of all would have been Autodesk sending me a message one year ago telling me that my 2014 would not be supported anymore and that was part of the "Subscription Benefits" [Sarcasm mode ON]

It should have been written somewhere in red that you'll have to change every 4 years and not in a hidden html page somewhere. I am deeply unpleased as you can guess.

Anyway, we are considering changing all the pipeline to remove Autodesk from our further development so one in all it could be a good news. [Sarcasm mode OFF]

I upgraded my rig and non of my Autodesk products work. They all require reactivation as per Autodesk, They say that they will not supply re-activation codes for my old versions because I no not have a subscription any more. I have perpetual license, I own the software. They say that they will only supply new code for newest version ( 2021) that I do not use. Is there a way to transfer authorization info from versions 2013-2014-2015-2016-2017 from one computer to another. Or I am stuck using this software on an old slow machine, if I can get it running at all . Best to email reply x1@cas4.com or txt 845-786-0620. HELP

This is crazy, now I can not work because all my files are running on my Win 8.1 Box and I have no software that works and I have paid over $40,000 over the past 20 years to Autodesk.

Hi, sorry to hear about that...

My 2014 is far away now as are my plugins specifically developed for my company. Next year we will move to Blender thanks to Autodesk policy. Our dev will work the same but we will all have a larger and better support.
