Our company uses infraworks a great deal for a variety a projects. One thing we have noticed that causes some tedious work is when we have designed roads and land areas, then export those to imx which are imported into Civil 3D, three surfaces are brought in. The existing ground doesn't change, then there's existing transportation which the roads come on and proposed ground which the land areas come on. It would be beneficial if the roads and land areas came in on one surface instead. Our main issue with this method is the fact that the surface ties in to existing grade but then continues to follow existing for several feet which doesn't look clean for a plan set. On our big projects we have spent hours manually trimming these lines so they hit existing grade and stop. I can attach pictures if more clarification is needed. Do you have any thoughts or work around on this?
