When using Data Exchange to bring in Revit models into InfraWorks, provide the ability to reference Revit's Shared Coordinate System. Currently when importing Revit models, InfraWorks references the origin point of Revit's internal grid. This would greatly simplify the process of importing Revit models.
Revit stores real world coordinates using "Shared Coordinates". In simple terms, the shared coordinates are a saved math equation to convert geometry from Revit's internal grid to the real world. Revit users do not interact with the internal grid as it is only used for Revit to draw geometry. Revit users work in the project coordinates (building oriented), or shared coordinates (real world).
