Using a Javascript to read GPS data into Infraworks as 3D Model assets

Here is one way to transfer model assests aquired with a GPS unit and bring them into Infraworks as 3D Models.

 

A Javascript program and a sample dataset are attached.

That's awesome!

Question: Do you know if it would be possible to amend the JScript to place the trees if I only have the AMSL elevation at the top of the tree?  Or would I need to back-figure the tree height?

You've got the terrain elevation so all you need to do is subtract that from the top of tree elevation which will give you the height value.

 

So the code would look something like this: feature.MODEL_SCALE_Z = AMSL-Elev
