Update fbx export via commande line, possible ?

Hi all,

We're trying to automate certain things on a project and we're looking for a way of updating our FBX exports that are built in our Infraworks model.

Some of the references are SHP files with covera area parameters.

Anyone ever attempted this and made it work ?

Thank you in advance

Hi @cyberflow ,

can you be more specific how you want to update FBX exports? What's the goal and the workflow if it was manual work?

Regards,

Karsten.

Hi @Karsten.Saenger

I've already created for different lot of a project seperate FBX files that has the right of ways and legal information and other labeling that are converted into surface coverage

I just want to setup a way to automaticly update those with a .bat file linked to a schedule task so it would update the .FBX files.

Not to sound lazy but i want to optimize my worktime mainly.

Hope this helps you understand.

Hello @cyberflow ,

I understand you want to "refresh" or "reimport" data sources in InfraWorks using a script, correct?

Unfortunately, I don't know of any available script for InfraWorks.

The closest I can think of is the back-up all data sources and re-import script, see https://knowledge.autodesk.com/article/Backup-the-data-sources-in-an-InfraWorks-model

Maybe it can be edited to specific data sources and then run to re-import them.

Regards,

Karsten.

I know when we open the command line or log in infraworks there's a lot of "git" commands

I'm wondering if there's a way to bypass or leverage that

Hi @cyberflow ,

InfraWorks model databases are based on the Git technology. There is no way to bypass anything.

Karsten.
