Scenarios not published

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have created a scenario and it all seems to be working fine (I get no errors), it is set to public access as well.

scenario2.PNG

Once I sync my model I get no option to sync scenarios and web views and I get no status in the Scenarios panel:

scenario1.PNG

When I view my model through the online admin page I can see that I have a scenario in the model:

scenario3.PNG

What am I missing? I am trying to set up a web viewer url so others can view the model on their iPad or web browser.

Thanks in advance

@Anonymous, for a scenario (3D model) to be published, you also need to create a Storyboard first and select that during publishing. From your screenshot this isn't clear.

You also need to be an Admin or Publisher to manage the display of models and elements from the Web Administrator, including enabling/disabling public viewing of a model. Has this been setup by or for you?

If I can add just something I think that the most important thing, as John said, is this:

"You also need to be an Admin or Publisher to manage the display of models and elements from the Web Administrator, including enabling/disabling public viewing of a model. Has this been setup by or for you?"

I never created a storyboard before publishing! If you, @Anonymous, could add some more infos or screenshots maybe me or @John_de_Leeuw-NTI would be more capable of helping.

Have a good day

Nicola

Thank you for taking the time,

I am an Admin in the group, I have created a storyboard and it is selected in my Scenario, I get no errors whatsoever. What is strange is that there is no status for the scenario in the scenario panel once I sync, as well, I get no option to sync scenarios in the sync window:

sync model.PNG

I have no scenarios under the Manage models window:

manage.PNG

Yet, on the Web Administrator page I can see that I have a scenario (and 3 panoramas) in the model.

scenario3.PNG

but when I view the model online, I can't access the scenarios and only get the flat or oblique way to view the model.

The scenario is set to public access and I'm running on 360 2017 R2

Thank you.

@Anonymous, can you show me a screenshot of your Scenario dialog box in the model?

It should list your Scenario(s) like this, and should also bring up the Area of interest once you click the pencil to edit your scenario.

@Anonymous, okay thanks. Now what happens when you click on this icon after you select your Scenario?

This should take you directly to the online Scenario viewable in the 'old' 3D viewer (which isn't developed anymore)

@Anonymous, just for my clarification, are you the same person as @Anonymous or are you both having the same problem?

Please post a screenshot of the notification you are receiving. It seems that publishing has not been done correctly.

The only way to correct this is Syncing your model to the cloud using this icon in the Utility Bar:

2016-07-01_10-47-50.jpg

During the Sync you will not see the name of your Scenario(s), only Proposals can be checked to push them to the Cloud model. But you Scenario(s) should be published and shared from their attached Proposal:

Let me know if this helps or not?

John,

It is the same person, I am publishing under the BIMAU account and accessing the web with that account as well.

As I said earlier and as you can see from previous screenshots, my scenarios are not published.

There's only one way to publish and it is through the sync button, but my scenarios are not published.

I appreciate your support on this, are you working for Autodesk?

@Anonymous, sorry to hear that your still having problems publishing your scenario. I'm not working for Autodesk but I suggest that someone from the support team like @Willy_Campbell has a look at your project what is wrong in there.

Thank you John!
Your help so far is much appreciated.
This one really got me. The process is fairly simple: Create a Storyboard, Create a Scenario, go through the scenario settings and pick up (among others) the storyboard, make it public access and use the Sync button to sync to the cloud.
Am I missing something?

I wish someone from AUTODESK can actually pick this issue and try and help.

(and I'm really trying not to sound "too negative" here)

Hey all.

I have the same problem as you.

I am not able to get scenarios online.

test1.JPG

I have createt the scenarios

test2.JPG

And I have a storyboard added

test 3.JPG

I don't get the collums with status on scenarios, or any Model elements with scenarios as in the 2016 Version.

Please help. Is this a 2017 buck, or have you created a new workflow to publish the models?

Hi Everyone,

The process has changed a bit for 2017. You need to sync the model as before, but then need to take the extra step to render for web view. See this Infratip: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/infraworks-360-infratips/render-models-for-viewing-in-browsers/ba-p/60...

Once the model has been sync'd, you will see your scenarios and the option to render. I just did this on one of my models after creating a new scenario:

webadmin.jpg

And yes, it can take some time to render these.

Thank you Willy,

Is this in the help file? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I will try this and see how it works

Hey Willy,

I followed your instructions (did this in the past as well)

Looks like it only works on Chrome, I do get a scenario now on a small project, trying a large scale now.

How long does the render takes? are we talking hours?

cheers

Hi @Anonymous,

I checked the help file, and while I found a 'what's new' video that shows some of this process, it is not specific to Scenarios. It is specifically for Web Administer and Panoramas.

As mentioned in the Infratip, depending on many environment variables, this can take time. I did a very small area to start, and it took about 20-30 minutes. So hours could be a possibility.

Also [as you found], IE does not have the needed WebGL to support viewing the scenarios, so it will be necessary to view in another browser.
