Rotate around a fixed point

We are looking at workflows for modelling windfarms.  Normally we are given X-Y locations of Turbines, and we design the tracks to these.  For the hardstands, we are looking to import polygon Shp files of the handstand shapes, this gives us graded areas, works perfect.  The issue is, when we go to rotate the hardstands to suit the orientation of the access tracks, we can only rotate around the centre of the shape.  Is there any way to rotate around a certain point?  (e.g. the centre of the turbine, which is well off centre. We are trying to do as much modelling in IW as we can before bringing it to C3D.  With WFs, the turbines are normally fixed, with a small amount of micro-siting, so need to be able to rotate very close to original position.

Hello, as a solution suggestion. In the object settings, in the table in the 3D model definition you have the option of translating the X, Y and Z coordinates to solve what you need.

Hi @wilsonm2000 ,

the insertion point of the 3D model is also the rotation point.

You can change the base point = insertion point of the 3D model in a 3D modelling program such as 3ds Max.

Regards,

Karsten.

@lim.wendy  It wasn’t a solution for my workflow.  It’s a solution if I was inserting individual 3D models, but that is not what I am doing.
