Rendering Issue (HDR)

When i was trying to render my project, i haed to choose between LDR and HDR image output. that is the result i got:

LDR:

04.png

HDR:

(Couldn't insert as image so i inserted as Atachment)

I liked the HDR better, but i wanna know how do i fix this sky so bright. Both of the HDR and LDR have the same setup but the sky in LDR is way better.

Shortly i want to render a HDR image with this LDR Sky.

One of the problems I've noted with rendering is being inline with the sun. It really doesn't help.. Try orienting the sun so that it's behind your viewing angle (use the time of day thing in the sun and sky settings). Otherwise, I'd like an answer to why rendering makes things very light. One work around I use is to just take screenshots from within the program. Those are frequently much better. The PNGs are just as good as the renderings. Mostly.

I agree with @Anonymous... change your point of view because the yellow dots themselves automatically pull your eye AWAY from what should be the focus of the scene, the bridge.  As for the rendering engine, hop on over and vote up this idea for an updated rendering engine for Infraworks. The more votes, the more likely it will be considered in a future release.

This was a major problem for me when I started using Infraworks and needed to provide rendered images out of it as a deliverable. I think the render engine needs some work and would love to see the a360 cloud rendering feature added in, In the meantime i created a simple workflow that gets me results when I can get the message across using the screen grab tool. (Tip: When using 'Create Snapshot tool play with with 'Visual Effects' and set a high resolution 10240X4320 normal makes an image about 3.5mb or so)

So basically I can do three things (I have done a quick example with a project I am in now);

For the example I placed the sun in front of what I want to capture, This is the dirty and cheap version but you will get the idea.

1. Use 'Create Snapshot' in this particular image I upped the light intensity, touched the contrast and brightness and widened the perspective:

From Infraworks - No editing.JPG

2. Use the Render module inside infraworks, but the sky and sun come out bland:

Infraworks Render engine no editing.JPG

As you can see the colour tone is bad and no depth in the sky, the sun takes away the eye.

3. So generally i take this image and do some colour balance in photoshop and overlay a sunset photo i have in the background ( I am not photoshop expert and this is really easily done) This helps alot by getting a better resolution using HDR but allows use to control the balance of brightness and contrast.

From infraworks and quick edit.JPG

These are completely test images and done really fast but you get the idea. (hopefully) I agree with the others and always try to have the light behind you but always play with the balances in 'Visual Effects' to help make sure the brightness doesn't get to out of control.

I have found photo shopping in sky's help not distract people as well.
