Model positioning

Hi!

A problem bothers me every time when I create model. Because of the blue background in infraworks 360, the model looks at near by water. The only solution I came out is to input a large terrain model and satellite photos which costs more running time. Is there settings I can change to avoid this situation?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, @Anonymous. You can give this a try. Make sure you back up any files beforehand, just in case. I'm not sure if it'll work with the latest release or not though. The AKN article only lists InfraWorks 2015 & 2016.

Hi Jingyj,

You can easily switch your view from Conceptual View to Engineering View using the Utility Bar, which will change the sky background color and give you more of an engineering view for detailed design. engineeringview.jpg

You can read about how to do this here: http://help.autodesk.com/view/INFMDR/ENU/?guid=GUID-4E69D369-5282-46FF-B4AE-62BBB8A2E964

Thanks,

Elliott

Thank you. It works!

I changed the background colour to white, and it seems brown-gray in effect.

Thanks! That is a great new feature! But unfortunately I have a old version 2016.

You may be able to use Javascript to turn off the dynamic sky in InfraWorks 2016. Here's an article explaining how to do so: http://autodesk.typepad.com/bimagination/2015/10/in-infraworks-2014-there-were-many-options-to-contr...

Thanks,

Hi, Does it work not well in "engineering view"? I don't have the new version so not sure about that.

I tried the solution I got from the first answer. It's about changing a color file in Instraworks system document. And it works well for me.
