Model Has Internal Errors

Hi there, I opened a model that I was working on last night and got an error:

"Model Has Internal Errors" that reads

"This model has internal error likely caused by unexpected shutdown. You may be able to continue working, but some functions will be limited.

Contact Autodesk Support for help with the model.

Do you wish to continue working in this defective model?"

Does anyone have the answer to this one?

For an update, the error appears to be associated with a custom 3D model for a fence that I was using. However, I cannot manually erase the fence objects, and they don't disappear after deleting the Data Source. When I try to manually delete the objects, they disappear but then reappear at one of the locations that I'd previous deleted them. Selecting them all and deleting obviously, does not work either.

Let me know if there is a solution or way to "cleanse" my model of those corrupt objects.

Thanks!

Hi @kwilktrihydro ,

if you delete or remove anything in a model (i.e. object, style, data source, etc.) it will not be removed from the InfraWorks model database.
It is possible to manually find and delete the file from the database folder, but it will be difficult to find the correct file as they have a cryptic filename.

I suggest using the model recovery tool, have you tried that already?

If you can share the model, I can also take a look, let me know.

Regards,

Karsten.

Thanks @Karsten.Saenger , I did try the model recovery tool and it did not detect any issues with the model. I'll send it to you in a message. If you have time to look at it, that'd be awesome. Really, it's a pretty simple model, so it's not a big deal on my end to re-build the model.

Do you want me to go ahead and mark your answer as the solution? I'm sure if I was really motivated I could dig through the sub-folders...but re-making it may be faster.

Hi @kwilktrihydro ,

I can take a look at the model if you send it to me.

Let me know if you need a OneDrive folder to upload it. Please create a zip file of the model.sqlite and the model.files folder and only upload this zip.

Regarding marking the thread as solved - it's up to you. But if there is no solution yet, I think it should not be marked at the moment.

Regards,

Karsten.
