Loading a new Bridge Deck component

Hello:

I am attempting to select a parametric Bridge Deck component within InfraWorks 2022 however it does not appear in the Select Component dialog box.  The deck component has been loaded into InfraWorks and appears in the Style Palette > Parametric Models > Bridge > Decks.  The component is one that I authored in Inventor and exported accordingly for use in InfraWorks.  As a test I also copied one of the deck templates included with InfraWorks, renamed it, opened it in Inventor and exported it out as an Infrastructure Template, loaded it into InfraWorks, and it does not appear in the Select Component dialog box either.  I have not had this issue with piers or abutments.  I have tried this on several different InfraWorks models.

Has anyone had success creating a custom deck template, any ideas of where I may be going wrong?

Thanks;

Nick

This is an issue that was found after the release.  We are currently working on a hotfix to address this issue as well as a few others.  I will let you know as soon as the hotfix is available to download.

Hi @Tadeas.Bartos

Yes the hotfix is available.  If you go to your Autodesk Account then under Product Updates there is an Infraworks 2022.0.1 Hotifx this has the fix the deck issue.  There is also a hotfix 2 for 2022 you may want to download, this will have both hotfix 1 and hotfix 2 items in it.

Hi @jim_geer, i have the same problem using Infraworks 2023 1.5.251

Is there any option to add a custom deck other than upgrading to Infraworks 2024? Due to the project specifications this is not a valid solution.

Thank you,

Rodrigo.

Hi @rsanchezsanc ,

You can add custom decks in InfraWorks 2023.  The issue from above was from IW 2022 and shouldn't be a problem in 23.  Can you explain a little more what you are running into?  Have you created a custom deck in Inventor?  Would it be possible to perhaps create a video of the issue you are running into or upload some screenshots?

Thanks,

Hi @jim_geer, thanks for the reply.

The main obstacle I'm facing is that, while importing the custom deck (from a Revit family which i created and tested on InfraWorks 2024), on Bridge/Puente domain, there is no option to select other component type than Abutment/Contrafuerte, Foundation/Base and Pier/Pilar (sorry for the translation inconvenience due to the spanish version). When I imported it on InfraWorks 2024 there was two more options, Girder and Deck. The version as I mentioned above is InfraWorks 2023 1.5.251

It appears to be added but don't let you select it when editing your deck as it is not classified as one of the deck sections.

Thanks for your time Jim, regards
