Infraworks on Citrix

Has anyone successfully run Infraworks on a Citrix box?  i know users who have done so with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.  Success has been variable, but generally good.  Infraworks is another beast of course with regard to graphics requirements.  i'm just curious if anyone has tried.

Thanks.

Hi,

Did anyone try to run infraworks on Citrix. We have a few suite licences with access to Infraworks. But we work on citrix. A sales person told us that infraworks was not supported on citrix.

We were wondering if we should try to install infraworks, or if anybody already tried this. Installation will cost us some money, so if we already know it does not work, than we do not have to try it.

@Anonymous, @mathewkol, yes we do. We offer different Autodesk Cloud Based Workplaces also running InfraWorks in your browser.

In this thread an example of ReCap 360 running on a Citrix platform using Windows Server 2012 R2.

Thanx for the fast awnser.

You say that infraworks works in our browser. I was wondering, it is a stand alone program right? So does this program work in our citrix environment?

Would be good news.

@Anonymous, with the correct setup you should indeed be able to run InfraWorks from your Citrix backend. If you need more info/assistance on this subject, send me a message through the forum and I will get one of my IT collegues in touch with you.

InfraWorks will work in a Citrix environment with dedicated video. However, this installation model is not supported by Autodesk at this time.

Well we have infraworks working fine in CITRIX with the exception of one little problem. Redirected user folders don't play nice

Infraworks typically places all the model data in a "persistent" cache location in /Documents/Autodesk Infraworks Models

But as you can see from screenshot below, the redirected path to documents causing all sorts of pain..

so only options are
1. "Create a mapped drive" like D or E that gos to the same path and change it to there.
or
2. map it to %APPDATA%, but there is a performance problem with this, because %appdata% gets copied back and forth after sign in sign out.. and IW projects can get >10gb really easily.. this will significantly slow down login/logout operations

Redirected folders dont workRedirected folders dont workmust be a local drivemust be a local drive
