Infraworks 3D Facade from 3dsMax

Hello everyone,

For several days I have been trying to integrate 3D facades modeled under 3ds max into an Infraworks facade library.
I have found tutorials to import facade textures, but nothing about 3D models.

Thanks for your info.

Hi @ybouissou,

why do you need to import a 3D model for a facade? If you import the 3D model you basically are saying that you need to rebuild every building in IW.

Through the picture you will be able to apply to every building.

thanks for your reply.

But in my case the texture will not be good enough, i want better resolution of the model.

I want to generate an huge city with "french" facade using LOD and creating a 3ds model for each building will be too long.

Hi,

i will use multi-material for mesh but i dont want to change only materials or maps, i want to define new 3D facade from 3D model.

An exemple :

how can i use this mesh for custom facade ?

Hi @ybouissou,

you would never be able to convert a 3d model into a texture.

If I can give you a tip I would show every other building as white and only the one that you are interested in, to be very detailed.

i don't want to convert 3d model to texture even if it's possible to do it with 3dsMax and texture backing.

In infraworks you can have diferents level of detail for facades.

LOD 1 => buildings are flat without textures.

LOD 2 => buildings are flat with a textures.

LOD 3 => buildings have many 3D détails.

In my case LOD 1 is useless.

I can change textures of LOD 2 with editing my style .json file, but i can't use my own 3D mesh for making a custom 3D facade.
