On behalf of our spectacular development team, I am thrilled to announce that Infraworks 2021.2 is released this week, as always, with powerful features for infrastructure modeling applications to cap off this year. Autodesk® Infraworks® 2021.2 delivers new functionality that brings both the conceptual design and interoperability with the Civil 3D aspect together for a successful roadway workflow. Since Infraworks 2021.0 release, roadway designers can already bring Corridors from Civil 3D with ease into Infraworks for visualization and design review. With the upcoming active linear road decorations, users can utilize the corridor roads to its fullest in Infraworks. In this version, users can also enjoy the preview window in refined bridge analysis.

The install is available via the accounts (manage.autodesk.com) and soon via Autodesk Desktop App (ADA).

This release includes features like

  • Active Decorations for Corridor Roads
  • Refined Bridge Analysis (RBA) enhancements including preview window
  • Several improvements to the Corridor workflow from Civil3D
  • Lane markings update
  • And many more

Hi @ramesh_sridharan,

Thanks! After installing the update, I noticed that the proposals menu seems to be acting funny. It looks different than it used to, and the "x" button to delete a proposal doesn't show up anymore. I've attached a GIF.

Unfortunately I can't seem to recreate the issue - I closed and reopened IW and it looks normal again.

@mzjensen That's strange. Please let us know if it happened again and we will check it out. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

I installed InfraWorks 2021.2 this week and tried to use Model Builder today with no luck. Are the Model Builder servers down? When I selected the model to be opened it did not ask if I wanted it to be a BIM 360 or local cache, it just had Open Model or Delete Model for choices.

@ramesh_sridharan

InfraWorks 2021.2 is still not available for us at manage.autodesk.com as of this morning.

Users at my firm do not have installation privileges. I download the software from our account page and build a deployment.

Any thoughts as to availability?

Regards,

Michael Partenheimer

Any chance on getting direct link? It is not shown in Desktop app or in Autodesk account.

@Partenheimer @AMCr2 Are you guys still having trouble accessing the installer?

@DaneMartin I think we have some Model Builder outage last month for a brief period of time, but it should be up and running now. Please let us know if the issue persists.

Immediately prior to posting this, I accessed our manage.autodesk.com page, downloaded InfraWorks 2021, and installed it. The version is still 2021.1.

Hi @ramesh_sridharan, seems the update is still not available to be downloaded.
As we speak, this is the status on manage.autodesk.com

@Dhruv_Mitra, can you check Autodesk Desktop App, which seems to have 21.2 available, I just checked and it is showing 21.2? We will check the manage.autodesk.com with our team. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Hi @Dhruv_Mitra ,

InfraWorks 2021.2 is not listed as "Update or Addon", just download it from the full programs tab, it should always download the latest version from there.

Regards,

Karsten.

Hi @Karsten.Saenger , thanks, but what about the users who already have the version installed? Does Autodesk recommend deploying full version of ~6 GB to such users instead of a ~1 MB update patch, besides re-doing all configurations which were done in the original deployment?

Also, isn't that all updates gets listed in the "Product Updates" tab? i think all other including the previous update for IW 2021 is listed in same location.

Hi @Dhruv_Mitra ,

I'm not sure if I fully understand.
InfraWorks updates are released 3-4 times a year. For example there is a full year release for 2021 (version 2021.0). Each new release gets a new number, such as 2021.1 and 2021.2. All these "updates" are full installation packages. This means the old InfraWorks on the computer needs to be uninstalled and the new release installed.
Only HotFixes are installed on top of an installed version.

These HotFixes are much smaller in file size and listed in the "Updates and Addons" tab. All other releases are listed in the "Downloads" tab.
If you install a HotFix, the version number does not change, but the build number, for example 2021.2.15.0.

Usually, a release download consists of one or two installation files (.exe) with maximum file size of 2 Gb. When extracted the installation folder is between 4 and 7 Gb.

The application options and settings should stay the same after installing a new version.

Regards,

Karsten.
