infraworks 2015 ver. 15.3.59.0

I have a subdivision layout in civil3d 2016. i have loaded a background image into infraworks and i would like to bring

in and overlay the linwork. nothing seems to work, i've tried shp, sdf, drap and drop, imx.

 

any idea of what i need to do?

Have you tried importing Civil 3D drawing? Please see this video for workflow.

I would also recommend installing newer version of InfraWorks. There are many new tools and functionalities added to it and you may find it easier to work with.

yes, I have. didn't work either. I get an error message saying I need productivity pack 1.

I searched for it, but cannot find the actual download.

Productivity Pack should be in manage.autodesk.com. Please sign in and look under Product Enhancements. See if that helps.
