Hi All

Is there a way I can drape an aerial photo onto the roof of all the buildings as well as draping it over the terrain?

Thanks

Hi Neil,

this sounds like you have a model and you want to drape an aerial image over everything like a big carpet.

To my knowledge this is not possible. Every datasource is a separate "object" and one texture cannot be applied to everything at the same time.
If it is houses and surface only the solution is to drape the aerial image onto the surface and created a roof style for the houses. If the roofs look the same then you need only one style and apply it to the buildings. If you have many different roof types it is propably the best to build classes of roof types that have the same style.

Best Regards,
Karsten.

I've been trying to figure out how to do the same thing.  I'm guessing my thought aroud this is much the same as Neil's.  I would like accurate roof tops applied to my buildings but without having to apply them to each building individually.  My thought was since you can take a terrain model and drape a photo onto it, why could we not use the building roof tops as a essencially a terrain because it to has elevation and drape another photo over the building rooftops?

It looks as if it used to have this functionality way back when it was LandXplorer Studio. I wonder where it is now? It is hard to imagine this functionality is not in Infraworks deep in the code or somewhere right in front of me that I am glossing over.

Ya, that's exactly what I was looking at doing.  funny it didn't make it into infraworks.
