Corrupt Model

I've got a corrupt model (had to force a shut-down while IW was still open) and now I can't get into the model.

Capture.PNG

I'm trying to follow the steps in this AKN article but I keep running into this....

PS C:\Users\<user>\OneDrive\Documents\Autodesk InfraWorks Models\Autodesk 360\289931\model.files\unver> "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\InfraWorks\Git\bin\git.exe" status
At line:1 char:56  (character 56 is the space before the word 'status' in the line below)
+ "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\InfraWorks\Git\bin\git.exe" status  (I changed the path from 'InfraWorks 360' to 'InfraWorks' since that directory doesn't have the git.exe file)
+ ~~~~~~
Unexpected token 'status' in expression or statement.
+ CategoryInfo : ParserError: (:) [], ParentContainsErrorRecordException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : UnexpectedToken

So what's the key to getting this to work correctly? Is there a different git.exe file I should use?

Figured out the first part... was in Power Shell and not Command window (been a busy week, what can I say) and so now it's reporting that the index is corrupt and I can't reset it, for both .GIT folders.

C:\Users\<user>\OneDrive\Documents\Autodesk InfraWorks Models\Autodesk 360\289931\mode..files\unver\.git>"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\InfraWorks\Git\bin\git.exe" reset
error: bad signature
fatal: index file corrupt

@Eric_Chappell @Karsten.Saenger  Either of you have a way of fixing this?

(thankfully it's not my AU model *phew!*)

I've seen issues similar and raised a support call.  Was told that Git by default isn't set up for list n file names and pointed to this https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/infraworks/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Fil...

hope that helps

@Anonymous, unfortunately that didn't help. But thanks for the tip! I'll have to change the default paths in IW. I was thinking yesterday when I posted that the file paths were (for me) outrageously long.

Hi @Matt__W

I just tried to download and open the model to see what happens on my system, but it seems as if the zip file is corrupt.

Regards,

Karsten.

Hi @Matt__W

this time I was able to take a look at the model and I can confirm it's corrupted.

Unfortunately, the error is too much on the git part of the model and I cannot help.
The easiest solution would be if you had a backup of the model in the cloud! The simply delete the cached model and download the cloud model again.

If there is no cloud version of the model available (or any other backup) and if the model is important and cannot be recreated in an adequate amount of time, I could ask our development team to try and fix it. Most likely some edits might be lost and it will take some time.

Regards,

Karsten.

Thanks for your time and looking into it, @Karsten.Saenger. I can recreate it. Was just hoping I didn't have to. I have a lot of the styles saved, but unfortunately I did not save a copy to the cloud.

(note to self: backup to cloud more often).

Thanks again.
