hello, I am new to infraworks and when I try to convert a road to design it keeps the converting window open forever. then if I close out of the program I reopen my model and the road is way under the rest of the side at a different elevation. is this normal? thanks for any help!

Usually, if you have a sketch road, you can simply right click on it and then select "convert to component road".
"Design roads" do not exist anymore in InraWorks 2019. What version are you using?
And can you send the InfraWorks log files after the error happens in your program? The log files are located in %AppData%\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk InfraWorks\logs.
