Connect to Civil 3D Objects "Alignments" in Infraworks

I am bringing alignments into Infraworks from Civil 3D through Data Sources and its working as it should.

My question is when new alignments are created in Civil 3D and I go to update the Data Source "Roads" The Civil 3D Drawing I connected to doesn't recognize the new alignments, so I have to add another connection to the C3D drawing and weed through the alignments...

Is this the best practice or is there a better way?   Go to Data sources and Import Autodesk Civil 3D Dwg then go to the Civil 3D dwg tab in the Data Configuration to add the alignments as roads...

Seems to me that we should be able to access the Data Shortcuts in a C3D project folder for a more dynamic workflow between the 2 platforms.

As always thank you for reading my post, and thank you in advance for any help!

Stay Healthy Everyone!!

To avoid recreation of a new data source, you can do a re-import of the existing data source, this will refresh the data cache on IW side and make the new roads available. If the new roads don't come automatically, you may need to do a reconfiguration to include the new roads.
