Automatic Zoom to Selection or Selection Set

If you implement this option, anytime you select a feature, InfraWorks 360 will automatically zoom to it. If you select multiple features, automatic zoom includes the extents of your selection set.

  1. Click  > .
  2. Click the View tab.
  3. Checkmark Automatic Zoom to Selection. As long as this option is checkmarked, it remains in effect.automatic_zoom.jpg
  4.  Select a feature. There are various ways to do this, such as through the Model Explorer panel, Data Sources panel, the Data Table, the Scripting Console, or using filter expressions. See To select features in the model for more information.
  5. InfraWorks 360 will zoom to the extent of your selection, or selection set.
  6. You can press F4 at any point to return to your home viewpoint.

This is nice. In many cases InfraWorks zooms a little bit to close up for my use. Is there any setting that can override how close InfraWorks zooms into each selection?

i am checking on this for you. I am not certain whether you can adjust/customize the viewport distance from selected feature during automatic zoom to selection. However, what you can do as a workaround, is automatically zoom to your selection, then manually zoom in/out until the viewport has reached the desired zoom, then create a bookmark. You can then perform additional tweaks and modifications to the bookmark by editing the JSON coordinates for the bookmark (http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/infraworks-360-infratips/set-your-viewpoint-to-a-specific-geo-locatio...

Thanks,
