Add Database data source

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone know of any help documentation, blogs, online resources to help me learn about making database connections in InfraWorks. I am specifically looking for a way to import a Civil 3D 2020 Survey database SqLite file.

Thanks,

Hi @samir_rezk ,

what's the goal to have the database in InfraWorks, what type of data do you want to see in InfraWorks, points, lines, pipes, coverages, etc.?
I have never tried to import a Civil 3D survey database into InfraWorks, so I don't know if it's possible at all. Try the database types for import, the list is huge.

But maybe the better workflow is to import the survey geometry into InfraWorks from Civil 3D.

Regards,

Karsten.

Hi @Karsten.Saenger
I am looking at a database connection because I want to use the point and figure codes to apply automatic style rules in InfraWorks. If I connect to geometry, I will only get an AutoCAD overlay representation, otherwise I have to classify the points manually into a shp file to get the attributes!

yes the list of database connections is huge!  and I noticed there is a couple of different SQLite connections available yet I have no idea what is the difference so that’s why I was looking for any available resources online.

thanks,
