The tools have suddenly vanished after working this morning. I was going back and forth between Civil 3D quite a bit, updating corridor coverages.
I have even reinstalled Infraworks and they are still gone. What could be causing this?
I've reinstalled Infraworks twice now today.. no luck...signed in..sign out no luck..
This happened about the sixth time opening Infraworks this morning during the back and forth period with Civil 3D, updating corridor coverages.
I don't know why this tread was just given a solution?
I wonder if this problem is something to do with the license server not liking so much back and forth?
If you can can you reset me?
Hi @fcernst
I have no idea why my response got accepted. Someone must have click on it by mistake. Unfortunately I am not an admin so I cannot remove it.
Back to the issue at hand, anything change throughout the day on your machine? When you uninstalled and reinstalled, did any folders remain? What are the contents of this folder? C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\InfraWorks\Resources\DrawTools Do you see a bunch of JSON files like ComponentRoad.json?
Still no Tools this morning.
Yes I see the files. Here they are:
Hi Fred!
Are the tools gone for all models, or only for a specific one? Could you please create a new blank model and check for the tools there?
Thanks a lot!
Ok, yes if I created just a blank test model and the tools have reappeared.
The tools are still not appearing for the Yampa-1 model I shown below.
How would I get those working? I have done a lot of work in that model.
I just tried to duplicate the Yampa-1 model. When I try to open the duplicate model I get the corruption message below.
So your IW installation is probably fine. Apparently while you were working the model got corrupted somehow. Could you please try to open the model again and after you closed the failure message, please open the log view for more details?
Do you remember any unusual error messages before you lost access to the model? Did your computer run low on disk space?
No unusual messages.
I was going back and forth with Civil 3D making changes to a Corridor, and then updating the corridor Coverage in Infraworks. After awhile I went to add an automobile and noticed the tools were gone.
Where is the log view?
Sorry for the slow reply: in home screen either press "Ctrl+3" or open the help menu (question mark in upper right corner) and click the last item "Message Log"
Here it is after closing the corruption message: on the duplicate model:
IW complains about missing folders. Those folders are hidden and sometimes are not copied when using Windows Explorer or not included when zipping up a model. Did you copy the model to the Downloads folder? Can you make sure hidden folders are included?
No, I didn't copy anything.
I just selected my Downloads folder as the path in IW....
..for IW to directly place the duplicate model there for this test.
No hidden folders, and still no luck here with those files.
Ok, now I have a clearer picture of the log information: you opened the original model (that doesn't show the tools anymore), then duplicate the model and finally open the duplicate.
From the log I can see that the duplication already notices errors on the original model and then aborts. I tried this on my machine and it's a pity that IW doesn't give a error dialog in that case. The log just says "a partial copy remains". Of course, the partial copy most likely won't be functional but how should a user know without IW telling him more clearly. I added a story for that.
Back to your original model: I don't see a simple solution for you to apply yourself. Let me check how we can help you on it.
Ok, I just submitted the model for you.

Thanks
Hi @fcernst
Thank you for your patience. Both Haik and I were able to open the files you sent us and successfully see and use the tools that you are missing. I tested on 2019.0.54 and 2019.0.65 (hot fix applied) and also a newer beta build, all with success.
The tool files are stored in this folder within the model files: /unver/DrawTools and they seem to be intact.
Could you try unzipping the files you sent me in a new/different location on your hard drive and see if you get better results?
