I have had some success using the bridge tools to create pedestrian bridges, however, we could use more tools, or even presets to address the needs associate with this type of bridge. For instance, ped bridges will often use ramps with switch-backs or spirals, or elevator and stair systems. The bridge tools are ideal for bridge functions, but the adjoining elements (design and component roads) don't always work so well.
This tool would be particularly useful when conceptually designing a ped bridge to fit within a VERY tight tolerance. Where does the bridge land, will it impinge on right of way, will it have enough clearance, will the height of the bridge allow enough ramp at the appropriate grade to fit within the project footprint, how much material would be required to build, etc.
