Offset a Horizontal Alignment

Offset a Horizontal Alignment

What would be a really useful tool is one where you could automatically offset a horizontal alignment by a set distance.

You have one alignment already drawn, and because you want a parallel alignment with a different vertical alignment created, you have to either do it by eye, or use civil 3D.

Having the tool in IW360 would be great.

Many of the OpenStreetMap conceptual roads arrive with 2 separate alignments drawn for each traffic direction. Particularly if the road is larger like a highway w/ a median. Would be useful if one of the concept roads could be converted to a design road then offset to approximate the highway center line. Then delete the two conceptual alignments and create a complete component road out of the new centerline alignment. Shouldn't have to eye-ball or copy/paste these things back in.
