3D Model Styles

3D Model Styles

Hey guys

Based on the idea that infraworks is a conceptual tool, I have an idea about a 3D model styles Tool wheel.

For this example, it would be great, if you could define groupings within the 3D model palettes such as 3D Model/Vegetation, then go into types like grasses, tall trees, short trees, hedges etc.

Then when inserting these models into your workspace, you could have a wheel to rotate so you can choose which type of vegetation within that grouping you want.

At the moment it's difficult to picture what the vegetation types look like within the standard 3D models for infraworks just by the list of images in the model style palette, so it might be better to see what it looks like in the model, then if you don't like it, to click on the wheel tool to change it on the fly to another 3D model type of that same grouping style.

This could apply to any 3D model type, such as street lights, building facade types, vehicles etc.

what do you think?
