Why do some IW cars like the Volvo Sedan dissapears on the edge of the screen?
Is it just my computer settings/hardware or is it same for everyone else?
It's kinda anoying after I exported a storyboard to a video.
Also, the build-in export video codecs are really really bad. I have to export uncompressed, then use a 3rd party to compress.
We create beatifull stuff with the software, only to destroy it during video export. That is such a waste.
Can autodesk add a better codec?
I must admit that I've never encountered certain types of cars disappearing from the screen. I'm trying to visualize this... Do the cars disappear during a video storyboard? As for a better codec, that's a great idea to add to our Idea Station. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/infraworks-360-ideas/idb-p/129/tab/most-recent
Thanks,
Elliott
The Codec is a bit tricky, but decent videos can still be created. I don't think I've seen cars disappearing at all. It's been a while since I did a video, but I do recall that there is a trick to getting a decent video, but still keeping the file size reasonable at around 150,000 KB (150 MB), vs 20-30 GB. I used WMA type, 30 FPS and put the data rate up to 7000 kbps.
See my results HERE.
Hope that helps!
Thanks you for your replies.
The cars like the Volvo sedan dissapears during normal model navigation, during storyboard player and after a video export.
Your blue-ish Volvo sedan also dissapears @1:47 !
It's hard to see because the camera moves too fast. But if you pay attention you will see it. The shadow also dissapears along with it.
I've experimented with all the IW360 codecs different settings. Export the video uncompressed then use a hevc or h.264 third party codec yields far superior quality-file size ratio.
I'll upload my video later on after my presentation, unfortunately after the anwser day. Hopefully you will still be here to see it 😄
I can't let you have the premiere of my video 😄
Ah nice, no problem. I do see that quick flicker of it coming off at 1:47, but yeah, it's really too quick to be noticeable and then the car comes back as the camera pans back over. I follow your point though, and for sure, we shouldn't need a third party Codec to output a high quality video. Look forward to seeing your video!

There you can find my projects, however it's still pending for approval. Maybe by the time you check this it's already approved.
If it's not, check my YouTube channel
I hope you like it!
note: pay attention to the blue-ish turquoise Volvo sedans. I find it very anoying.
YOU CAN USE 3DS MAX TO MAKE AN ANIMATION, ADD THE VEHICLES AND WITH MOVEMENT YOU CAN ADD TO THE MACHINE
