When I first started creating products for Informed Design I didn't create any sub-folders. With the new update I'm no longer allowed to publish to the Project Folder but when I try and publish to a sub-folder I created it tells me I can only publish revisions to the original folder. Any way to fix this?
Hi David,
So is there any way to move my products to a subfolder so I can publish new releases? Otherwise this last update has created orphan products that I can't update or delete.
Moving Published Products to a new folder is not yet supported. You should be able to publish new Releases of the existing Product even though it is in the root. Have you tried that and it's not working?
The first picture in my post is the error I get when trying to publish a new release to the root folder. I can see all of the products but the Publish button is grayed out and there is an error message saying I can't publish to the Project Folder.
As it turns out, your current inability to Publish a new Release against an existing Product that has been published to the Project root is a defect. We will address this issue as soon as possible. My apologies for the inconvenience this has caused for you. Until we release a fix for this you will need to Publish a new Product to a folder (with a different name if also to the same Project). Thank you very much for taking time to report this and thank you for your patience as we continually push this solution forward in terms of quality and new functionality.
To fix this, move the original project to a sub-folder, then publish revisions to that folder. This should allow you to continue publishing updates without issues.
