For the last years, BIM models have been proved useful during construction phases for the infrastructure industry. Each year we find more uses cases for railway projects, integration for different construction phases, impact of temporary works, identification of risk areas in existing railway networks.
For example, we’ve seen the use of BIM models with augmented reality to identify the impact in the nearest tracks. This will help define if operation restrictions are necessary during works, like operation speed, shoring requirements, and some others. It’s a simple example that can change the approach of works, in existing railway networks.
