Autodesk Impression

Untitled.png

I'm trying to import and/or open a DWG file in Autodesk impression and this is the error message I am receiving.  I have gone through other tips and made a couple .dll to .bak files as suggested.  I have also back saved the DWG to 2007 just incase that was an issue and I still can't open the file.  Please help!

Can yon open this DWG file in AutoCAD? The error message is telling you the DWG file is dead.

The file opens in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Can you share the file with us here? We all have IMPRESSION, which by the way hasn't been updated for many years and may not actually work with C3D content if that's present in he file.

Your file would not open unless I truly knocked it down to R2007 format with AECTOACAD command from inside AutoCAD first. It appears some content got lost.

There are better programs out there than Impression which was last touched by AutoCAD in the year 2009: some are free, most are not.

Thank you so much for your time.  If you wouldn't mind could you suggest a more updated software.  Have a great day and thanks again!

Impression is a dead product from Autodesk from the year 2009: you can find it buried deep in your current Autodesk subscription "other software" link.

We use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for the task or creating presentation quality graphics of DWG file content in our office: there are "free' alternates to those two that you can search for on the web.
