Show the complete imported filename with its extension in Fusion Data Panel

Hello The Team,

I just imported few STP, STL, and IGS files from GrabCAD with the same name, just their extension differ.

Alas in Fusion360 Data Panel, if I see well my imported files, they are all with the same name so I can't know which ones are the one with the ".stp", or ".stl", or ".igs" coming from.

So I have to go for each file into the web browser A360 app, then open the version popup windows for finally see what is the original name of the file with its original extension (marked as "imported from..."). You know what I mean ?

It could be very helpfull to see the original complete name of the file directly in the Data Panel, as well as it is already shown when the original file is a PNG or JPG file for instance.

Hoping this will grab your attention,
Best Thoughts,
Guy

This is Extremely important for Creo / proE files. The file extension doesn't show up, but instead Fusion is only telling you if it's an assembly or Part type. Well, thanks for that. But the way Creo works is it makes the file name like this:

objectName.asm.4  with 4 being the version number.

So when you try and upload that, you get this:

objectName     ASM   size

objectName     ASM   size

objectName     ASM   size

objectName     ASM   size

Well, thanks. Which version is Which? That should be 1-4 there.

Please include the entire filename. Just don't truncate the name at all. Once you upload, it then tells you the whole thing.

When files are sent to you, you may not know what is the master assembly. This will help speed that up, and Hopefully isn't too difficult of a change.

CapGuy here has a similar problem because the name has been simplified. Just don't simplify the name so we are sure what we are getting. It's bad enough that windows keeps trying to hide extensions.

@colin.smith : I see this functionality is nowadays implemented, so there was a lack of vote, but fortunately someone in the dev team seemed to be alerted by the real need...
