Scroll with inertia

Scroll with inertia

Is very difficult to go from one to the other end of the model without inertia on MacBook trackpad.

Nowadays you have to zoom out, move and zoom it, which is very slow on larger models.

It will be very very hand to have to same type of inertia like a preview on Mac has. Quicker you move faster the scroll is.

Seriously please everyone upvote this.

Trackpad navigation is terrible and is actually getting worse. It desperately needs to be fixed and panning around is a particularly huge PITA

This is a hardware driver issue IMO.. The Lenovo P50 trackpad has this option in the settings. And the 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse scroll wheel supports it too. It's not solely a Fusion issue.

How do these keep not getting enough votes? Autodesk is writing software for apple computers yet is breaking basic touch conventions. How is there not revolt over this? Is it a low ratio of Mac to PC users? Anyone who has ever used a smartphone should be screaming in agony over how this is currently done.
Colin, please rethink this. The PC conventions are murdering us Mac users.

Here is how this should work:

  • 2 finger pinch = zoom in/out at mouse location
  • 2 finger pan = pan in current plane
  • 2 finger twist = rotate in screen plane
  • 3 finger twist = rotate on axis vertical to screen plane

@brooks.adcock this is such a no-brainer and it makes me want to scream how horrifically awful 3D model navigation is still in F350.

It's great that there is a plugin to make it less miserable, but Autodesk should fix this (not just inertia, but scaling, and general 3D navigation, and that's not just a trackpad issue)
