One of the features I miss most when modelling in more advanced/mature modellers like Inventor/Solidworks, is the use of Between as a termination option in Extrude, Revolve & Sweep. Also with support for the sketch being outside of the selections (but still on a valid path).
Can you attach a screen grab, I don't have Solidworks\Inventor so don't know what I'm missing. I think I might understand the between bit but I don't get your last sentence about the sketch being outside of the selections.
