The new UV test texture goes into a good direction but falls short to deliver the tools a designer needs.
The main problem is that it is hard to read and thus hard to make sure by hand to adjust individual patch UV coordinate orientation and size to match so that textures will have the correct rotation and scale.
The standard are those UV test images
They provide a much better visual contrast to understand what is happening and helps users to adjust UV coord. better.
Fusion current version adds some interesting directions with the UV direction lines (green - red) but the grid itself is
hard to read because it lacks contrast by a lot. In addition from different view distances it is even more difficult to use is
as details blur together.
plus I can only see that diagnostics field while having the display mode visible yet Fusion does not give me any tools
to manipulate the UV rotation and size.
That would be kinda a must have to make this nice UV diagnostics tool useful. Currently it is pretty hard to use.
