If someone picks «plaintext» for email, what should happen is that they receive an email like the following:
subject: The thread title (via Autodesk Fusion 360 Ideastation)
from / return path: "poster's username (via Fusion 360 Ideastation)" mailto:autodesk.prod|12330a1c|4e11fa12-2d3c-2712-c24c-4a1a01d47334@reply01.lithium.com?subject=Re:%20The%20thread%20title
content: Just exactly whatever was posted goes in the content. Maybe at the very end there is a one-click unsubscribe URL (not an HTML link; just the URL)
This way viewing and replying becomes exactly like viewing and replying to any email.
What we actually have instead is more like the following:
subject: Re: The thread title (Autodesk Community Subscription Update)
from: "Autodesk Community" community@noreply.autodesk.com
content: Hi roambotics scott,
poster's username (Participant) posted a new comment in IdeaStation: Request a Feature or Enhancement on 2016-12-27 08:32 AM in the Autodesk Community :

Subject: Re: The thread title
Whatever the poster actually said goes here. Just here in this sea of other crap.
You can respond to the comment at the following URL:

This seems like such a no-brainer that it shouldn't even need a vote
