Welcome to the Revit Ideas Board! Before posting, please read the helpful tips here. Thank you for your Ideas!

C4R file open options

We have had a small number of C4R files that corrupt for some reason, potentially from add-ins etc. As the teams are spread globally and time zones make contacting teams difficult it would be advantageous to have more statistics on file information and health.

My suggestions for the file open dialog:

1 – It would be great to know additional Properties (tool tip info or Preview image) on the file open dialog in C4R jobs: e.g.

  • Last user login to Synchronise
  • Version # saved
  • Number of worksets in the file
  • Number of linked files of each type (if present)
  • Time taken to last load file (sets a reference on time expectation for loading)
  • Files size information (including total).

2 –An ability to have cloud based file auditing to confirm file health and determine the last version that was known to be healthy (with the user login / computer information so it can be traced).

One option is to have C4R audit automatically on file load and e-mail the team if it is known to have problems.

Can't wait ... Building our own methodology and apps to do this. Helps with the purging of old cache data too. Built for Revit 2017, 2018 and 2019 only at this stage.

El estado se ha cambiado a: Gathering Support

In an effort to consolidate threads, we are updating this thread to Gathering Support. We are continuing to evaluate where this request falls into our roadmap and will provide an update when we have made a decision.

We are in the process of improving and consolidating the Revit Ideas. This is by no means a downgrade...simply part of our cleanup efforts. Rest assured that your Idea and feedback is valuable to our teams, and that your Idea will continue to be reviewed.
