Add Electrical Trunking as a system family

I would be great if Revit had Electrical Trunking as a system family. In the UK electrical trunking is widely used on projects.

At present the workarounds I have seen are using cable tray or ductwork. But neither are preferable.

Important function. Electrical engineers need it.

It's really helpful to electrical Revit user.

The lack of trunking as a system family is Revit is a fundamental failing by Autodesk, and something that has been raised on these forums for a while (https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-mep-forum/revit-uk-electrical-content-trunking/td-p/3730418).

Maybe a fresh post might make Autodesk take notice...

Really... really important.......

Autodesk is just a company will not really want to improve their product. Trunking is a very important component in electrical engineering. I can tell you why people are not willing to use revit, this is the most reason I heard, no  in revit.

It's a great ideia! Here in Brazil qe have been using specially at administrative/work spaces and sometimes in class rooms/Labs too.

A great way to give more flexibility in the ambient.

Surprised that it still not included, users have been crying out for this for years.

Still not here! Even with 2023.1 release..

I have been asking for this since 2011, they are aware as they list the typical fudges on AKN.

Inplace family really?? Appropriate for an MEP environment??!

It doesn't have to be too fancy, a tweaked wall sweep (but for an electrical discipline) will do!

What!? Still no trunking in 2023 or have I missed it?

Yes, totally agree.

So important for electrical building services design. Always fudging something to show trunking. Need ASAP!

Still not in 2024.1 either,

Still having to use old fudge workaround methods devised back in 2011!

its ridiculous, if Revit is BIM and BIM is Revit as Autodesk were so proud to market then it fails!

this is not a huge ask

>be autodesk

>Multi Billion Dollar Company

>cant even incorporate simple trunking system family into the software

Trunking is very necessary and its absence in the Revit is a big flaw and I wonder why this feature has not been added till now.

Electrical Trunking is a commonly used feature in electrical projects. Adding this feature to the software would be a great help and a more accurate representation of real-life electrical installations. As there's already a wall sweep tool for architecture, it would be relatively simple to transform or use it as a base for the Electrical Trunking.

i wonder how autodesk missed it
