Our business relies heavily in the copy/paste workflow as we are in the supermarket business and most of the work happens on existing stores. We use the copy/paste method to bring in entire departments as it's much much easier than loading family by family and rearranging them.

This is what happens with our families when we copy/paste. The families with names ending in numbers are renamed to anything close to a number 1, it's makes a complete mess in our projects.

The way I see it, if Revit finds a name clash, the "overwrite existing" prompt should come up to give users the option, just like when a family is inserted into a project.
