Parametrization of Polygonal Families Using Radius/Diameter of Surrounding Circle

I want to be able to parametrize my hexagonal shapes based of the diameter of the surrounding circle. I understand this is a very niche application, but it would be a very simple addition to make simple equilateral polygons much easier to parameterize.

You can do this using a sweep with a circular path. And then checking the Trajectory Segment. The Maximum Segment Angle dictates you many sides you will have.

 

However this is using an inscribed circle and not a circumscribed one. And it only handles even numbers of sides, so no pentagons, septagons, nonogons, etc.

If Revit had a Inventor way of modeling it would quickly solve your problems with modeling polygons!!!

I was able to get it to work by using the align dimension linear with a microscopic hexagon reference lines set up this then allows you to change the width of the hexagon, but it still does not do it by radius or diameter exactly but does work for most applications.

I also was able to look at what they did it is similar in the way dealing with polygons, but it is primarily focused on changing the number of sides, but I still would consider combining with them.
