Improvements of mass design templates.
I am extremely disappointed in the quality of intuitive use and visualization of the templates where custom objects are created. They are so clumsy to use.
When I was trying to design a truss, trying to get one end of my model line to stay put so I could manipulate the other end to achieve the angle I needed to was impossible. If you don't have the option to lock a point down on the reference lines provided, move the reference lines, and then free the locked points then what good does the template do?
Now I am trying to create a shingle in the Curtain Panel Pattern Based template. Not only are the reference lines impossible to use when dealing with objects that are less then an inch thick due to how fat even a size 1 setting is, but you can't even manipulate anything when you are eye level with the objects. The program says its "too sharp an angle". Well what is the point of having a design program when the view of obstructed and you can't work at the most convenient vantage point to design it?
Another disaster in this template is the inability to raise & lower model lines vis-a-vis the reference lines when dealing with distances of less than an inch. The align-measure dimension line doesn't make itself available to set a distance. If you select the line to activate the dimension, then select the dimension for edit, it just enlarges. This is unlike how the dimension lines work in any other situation and makes basic adjustment nearly impossible for the frustration of having to use the arrow key and zoom.
MAKE THESE TOOLS EASY TO USE, PLEASE. WE PAY THE EQUIVALENT OF A CAR PAYEMENT EVERY MONTH. IT JUST SHOULDN'T BE THAT HARD TO USE.
