Gridlines and Levels-Hide at scales coarser than

It would be great to have a function that allows gridlines and levels to be hid at scales coarser than. The same as is done for elevations and section cuts.

That way you could control the visibility of girdlines on overall plans vs enlarged plans and the same for levels.

We are dealing with processing plants that have many levels and grids.

What a great idea!  Wish I had thought of it!

I think that this is easy to control by template, without "hide at scale coarse than" property if you want to hide all levels and grids.

If you only want to show some levels or some grids, then that option makes sense. But meanwile can be controlles by view templates with filters (by grid/level type or if name contains, or not, certain words).

Yes, I only want to hide some of the grids and levels.  For instance on a 10 floor power plant we may have 40 levels because of all the misc. access platforms at each level.

Same with the gridlines. We may have 20 gridlines on a power plant that are needed at each level, but on any given level we may have 40 gridlines for all the different access platforms at that level.

We can control some of this with the 3D extents of our levels and grids, but it doesn’t resolve the problem like hide at scales coarser than. We have use filters as well, but using hide at scales coarser than would be very clean and efficient.

You can create a filter to hide levels that are no "building stories" (in their properties), for grids should be created another filter by desired properties, also asociate gridlines and levels with scope boxes.

But also I would support your idea.

We do use scope boxes and they help a lot
You suggestion on building stories is a good one. We haven't used that yet.
We can build a parameter that attaches to grids and filter it like you say.
Thanks
I still like the thought of being able to hide non major levels and grids in views by "hide at scales coarser than" but I realize I have about the same chances of winning the lottery as I do for Revit to incorporate this.

Excelente ideia! obrigado pelo envio @dmaughan25

a workaround you can do right now with the grid lines.

select your grid. press edit type. duplicate type (name it a acess platform). assign the new grid type to all grids for acess level and create a view filter that filter on grid type. add to your view template and unbock visibilty.

Can do the same with levels.

agree with your idea and have voted for it just a workaround you can do if you want.

Thanks. Yeah, I just like to have as few view filters as possible. It confuses all of my Revit guys the more we get of them.

I think may will be usefull to assign discipline to grids and levels and filter by discipline... With "common" discipline to levels/grids that should be visible on all views.

If level and grid have personalised parameter like "sub-discipline, commens or description" we could also to the using view filters.
