Increase View Template Granularity

It seems that a typical project has maybe 3 to 6 consultants, so each one links in 2 to 5 other consultant models - this increases with the size and complexity of the project as more consultants are added, and the scope of each consultants model is sub divided.  Larger projects often have 6 to 12 models, and in my own experience the larger more complex projects can have 20 to 30 models linked in.

Once there is more than one linked model, there is a good chance that one of the models will require a "per view" approach to V/G.  For example, we frequently need to reference linked views for the Architectural model, but maybe not for all of the others.  The problem is that as soon as you uncheck the "Include" box for "V/G Overrides RVT Links" you are unchecking it for all linked models.  So - for example, if I have unchecked it to allow the use of linked views in the Architectural model, but then in an update, the structural engineer adds a number of masses to control geometry that I need to hide (and had not thoughtfully put them on their won workset), I now have to go view by view and make that change.  Or, if the MEP engineer splits their model to separate M, E and P models - and I need to add new models and apply some basic settings like halftoning them, again I have to go view by view.  These sorts of things happen all the time - usually (of course) as you approach a deliverable deadline.

What I would like to see is two changes to granularity - either would address the problem, but adding both would allow a much greater level of management of linked RVT

First -

Add an "Include" option one level further in for Linked RVT.  That is, let me choose to include, or not, specific models.  So I could un-include just one, and leave all the others being managed by the view template.

Second

In the view template setting, for Linked RVT, on the "Basics" tab, there is a parameter to choose a linked view - either as a "Linked View" or as part of the "Custom" choice.  In that drop down, add a "By View" option.  That is, I want to control everything about the display of linked RVT by View Templates, EXCEPT the selection of a specific view.  For example, I could say that for my "Overall Floor Plans" template, the Architectural model is displays "Custom" with the Model Categories set to "By linked View" and the "Annotation Categories" not displayed. But then, I could assign a different linked view as the basis for each of my overall floor plans.
